Abstract
The present work of quantitative and qualitative character shows the design and application of strategies from a playful approach to the strengthening of the theme of the four basic operations and to improve the learning of students in the subject of mathematics. The main purpose was to boost the teacher's work by incorporating teaching activities so that learning is carried out and understood from the game. The elements that take advantage of the playfulness are: the ease of adapting (flexibility) to the present diversity and context of the classroom, which boosts the process and generates main emotions of the human being, in which it implies an educational objective. Playfulness also increases the level of participation and collaboration among students in the classroom when doing work, in addition, play is supported and makes use of resources such as educational play material to finish achieving a better academic performance of students. Finally, the result was that the use of recreational strategies based on activities (games) supported by educational recreational resources increases the interest and motivation of the students, which helped to improve their level of learning.
