Abstract
The present research was thought and made as an alternative to teaching and learning processes based in the memorization of information letting out of the frame the development of researching skills, generating a gap between theory and practice. The main objective was to develop the next researching skills: observation, analysis, experimentation and communication, in high school students from a public school in Ecuador called “Javier Loyola". For this, a referential theoretical framework is built that bases the concepts of investigative skills and learning, as well as everything related to the relevance of this research. Regarding the research methodology, was based in a qualitative approach and a Participative Action Research, then on was divided in four stages: diagnosis, planning, action plan and reflection. Once the initial information was registered, organized and analyzed, the researcher obtained a diagnosis and design an activity system composed of based-project learning methodology and supported with concepts mentioned in the referential theoretical framework, in order to develop researching skills and to decrease the gap between theory and practice tried in the research context. After processing the final results, the researcher concludes that the high school students developed the following investigative skills: observation, analysis, experimentation, and communication.
