Abstract
This work is designed to develop the pragmatic component of language in a student with ASD and to contribute to improving their communication and interaction in different environments (social, academic, family). The proposal stems from the research carried out in the sixth grade "B" of the autism block of the Special Educational Unit "Agustín Cueva Tamariz", located in the city of Cuenca. The unit of analysis consisted of a student with good language development, but with difficulties when starting and maintaining a conversation for a long time, interrupting when the receiver is speaking and tending to return to the same initial conversation topic. An investigation was developed based on a single case study, which was supported by the collection of information through field diaries, a semi-structured interview, a speech therapy exploration guide and a pragmatic language checklist, which allowed to verify the state o f the pragmatic component of the student's language. The information provided by these instruments was subjected to the grouping of data, which allowed arriving at potentialities and shortcomings that allowed the design of the intervention proposal. The intervention developed works on the different pragmatic skills (kinetics, proxemics, conversational faculties, etc.) through interactive activities with a playful nature that allow the integration and participation of the child in different academic areas. T he activities were developed under different methods and techniques (BAPNE Method, Role Play, Game -based learning) that seek the development of the pragmatic component of language.
