Abstract
The present investigation arises from the need to strengthen creative writing in students of the Ninth Year Basic General Education of the Ricardo Muñoz Chávez Educational Unit. The problem addressed starts from participant observation and documentary analysis in conjunction with observation guides and checklists, applied during pre-professional practices at the institution. Creative writing was chosen because it is a relevant aspect within the area of Language and Literature. In addition, by working on this element, it also contributes to the mastery of communication skills and the development of creativity in students. The research was carried out from the phases proposed in the action research method, with a qualitative approach. After reviewing various theories and authors, it was considered appropriate to carry out a didactic guide aimed at teachers. This guide was designed based on what is stated in the national curriculum, specifically from four skills with performance criteria focused on creative writing. For the creation, strategies that support solving the problem were reviewed and three were chosen for each skill. The designed proposal was evaluated through the judgment of experts, who provided observations that contributed to its improvement. It should be noted that one of the experts consulted was the Ninth Year teacher of the institution. The most relevant result was that the proposal is relevant to meet the proposed objective.
