Abstract
The following Curricular Integration Work (TIC) proposes the Problem Based Learning (PBL) methodology to support the learning process of the system of linear equations in the first year students of the General Unified High School (BGU) of the Luis Cordero Educational Unit. This study is based on the problematic situation identified from the diagnosis, which revealed an insufficient understanding of the contents related to the system of linear equations, as well as a lack of interest on the part of the students in their learning process. A pre-experimental type of research was used with a socio-critical paradigm and a mixed approach that integrates qualitative and quantitative techniques to measure the independent and dependent variables. The techniques used for data collection are the survey, participatory observation and test, together with an analysis of theoretical sources related to the content. In order to generate a positive impact, the proposal entitled Challenge, explore and learn with Sistemitos! was designed and implemented. To measure its scope, the students' mastery of the skills was evaluated, as well as the development of socioemotional competencies evidenced during the classes. The results obtained were positive, because students improved their grade point average, fostered collaborative work, problem solving and interest in their learning process.
