Abstract
This work aims to promote reading in children through the use of playful strategies in the classroom, with the participation of teachers and the assistance of parents. The use of playful strategies for reading developed a welcoming and innovative classroom environment for the development of linguistic competencies. Its central problem is the deficiency of linguistic competencies in students of the Skill Development and Study Techniques (DDTE) processes, corresponding to students in 5th, 6th, and 7th grades of Basic General Education, which has impacted their academic performance. within the “José Benigno Iglesias” Bilingual Intercultural Community Educational Center located in the Province of Cañar in the community of Aguarongo Chico. This curricular integration project adopts a qualitative approach, with a socio-critical paradigm, structured by participatory action research, involving participant observation and using techniques such as field journals, semi-structured interviews, photographs, and videos. In the intervention proposal, we created a guide of playful strategies aimed at assisting teachers with children's literacy problems, with the goal of enhancing educational quality through the use of playful strategies to help children improve their vocabulary, word recognition skills, reading comprehension, and fluency. The purpose of this guide was to support CECIB teachers in addressing difficulties in the development of linguistic competencies within the classroom. The guide was specifically designed for the Language and Literature area.
